I spent a few years in Ft. Nelson. Small town. About 5000 people. One full day drive north of Edmonton. One full days drive south of Alaska. Really enjoyed living there. trully 'Gods Country'. My kids still refer to FN as "Our home town".

I have been to Fort Nelson is it even 5,000? Wow just checked it is. I was there back in 2000 if you like to party at the hotel its not too bad. Lots of Newfies and Natives. I lived in Whitehorse for 2 years. Its isolated in Whitehorse too but you have things in Whitehorse at least. In Fort Nelson all I remember was an A&W for any chain. Fort Nelson would be a really shitty place to live if you were single.

F. N. is the same as any other community really. I've visited/worked in many different towms and cities. All one could expect is to experience the superficial. To truly experience a community, you have to get involved with the people.
