Surprisingly I really don't like Irish pubs when abroad. They never get it right :D

I much rather prefer Canadian Sports Bars, a pitcher of Molsen and Nachos with all the trimmings. [B-o]

For work, well myself and the OH are both office monkeys currently, she works with Finances and I'm in IT (*yawn* I know, tell me about it). We are looking to change that and hopefully start up a little business in Canada. TBH I'd work anywhere if the location was right.

Squamish looks good, I seen it while motoring around google maps and wondered if it was any good.

There's also the Tri-Cities--Port Moody/Coquitlam/Port Coquitlam. Just 30 minutes to Downtown when Traffic is light. Currently has Buses and the West Coast Express(Morning/Evening Mon-Fri service only), but there's (lots) talk of putting Skytrain through the Area. So far the SkyTrain project gets announced then canceled like Marriage in a Soap Opera, one day it will be built...or not.

Why the hell would you want to move to the new and improve police state of Vancouver?

It isnt the city I grew up in anymore

yah it's far better :P

I live in downtown Vancouver and love it, but i know thats not for everybody. But i have lived in North Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Abbotsford, Mission and Hope. North Vancouver or Mission might be a good fit, I like North Van because it so close to the ski mountains and good mountain biking. Mission is right on the Westcoast Express (rail) that goes right downtown. Mission would be much cheaper housing than North Vancouver, its a smaller community, but is close enough to Abbotsford for the big malls and such. Then there is Chilliwack, but it always smells like cow poop.

Only a few more weeks to go till the big move *bites nails*

We are kinda leaving finding an apartment until our feet are on Canadian soil. So is Squamish still a good place to move to? Any sign of rental prices dropping around Vancouver now that the Olympics are over?

Also, we will be looking to get a car asap when we arrive. Where's a good place to look for 2nd hand cars?
