James announces $2-billion plan
$1:
Cutting the carbon tax would cost an estimated $1.4 billion during the first two years after the coming May election, which means the NDP plan promises deeper tax cuts than that of the B.C. Liberals.

So she'll cut the tax bt keep the tax cut, thereby eliminating half the budget surplus. Then she's going to spend an additional $2 billion which will put the province back into deficit territory. This is why the NDP needs to be kept out of power. They're like a bunch of 12 year olds who have been given $200 for their birthday by their grandparents (unfortunately we're the grandparents). As much as I despise the Liberals they are the lesser of two evils (three if you count the Greens).

Yeah, me too. Carole James don't do much for me. Gordon Campbell has moved the Liberals to the left. There is a BC Conservative Party--I have a suspicion that they might gather some momentum as disaffected conervatives look outside Campbell's Liberals. But judging by their leader's bio, the BC Conservatives are still pretty bush league.

Ugh...I can't believe these are my choices. I'm moving to B.C. in 2010...

The B.C. Liberals are the lesser of two evils, but I think I personally would vote NDP in 2009...to send a message to the B.C. Liberals that you better rethink yourselves and take a step to the right.

What about the BC Conservatives ?

Their party leader got almost 5% of the vote in the recent byelection.

I used to vote Socred(Center-Right), but they collapsed and the Liberals took their position as the Pro-Business party.

Well I've cashed $250 worth of rebates, that's 10,000L of fuel. Don't think I used 500L of gas since the tax came in.
So every one who can't do math can vote NDP!!!!

And the NDP will just HIDE THE TAX....

While I agree with your sentiments about dear old Gordo, isn't that a little like cutting your nose off to spite your face?

Here's a list of parties that are supposedly running candidates. Alot of them which would be better than the NDP.

Bloc British Columbia Party
British Columbia Party
BC Unity Party (2004- )
Canadian Alliance Party of British Columbia
Centre Democratic Party
Citizens Action Party
Communist Party of British Columbia
Democratech Party of British Columbia
Democratic Reform British Columbia
Emerged Democracy Party of British Columbia
Freedom Party of British Columbia
Green Party of British Columbia
Libertarian Party
Marijuana Party
British Columbia Marxist-Lennonist Party
Moderate Democratic Movement (2003– )
Natural Law Party of British Columbia
Patriot Party
People's Front
Platinum Party of Employers Who Think and Act to Increase Awareness
Renewal Party of British Columbia
Sex Party
Western Canada Concept Party of British Columbia
Western Refederation Party of British Columbia
Work Less Party of British Columbia
Your Political Party of British Columbia
Youth Coalition

Personally I'm gonna vote for the sex party, since it sounds like the only one that'll screw you but make it enjoyable.

If I was doing okay, we wouldn't be eligible for these rebates!
I will be voting NDP for more or less the same reason as you. Campbell completely ignores anything "Beyond Hope".
Area 250.... Deadwood....

I don't understand your first comment then. You seemed to be against the NDP. These rebates might seem nice now but what about a few years from now when the tax goes up. Taxing auto fuel was one thing but to go further and tax heating fuel really was just the stupidest thing they could do.
