I used to become happy about it but I have heard people complain about it. Is this a good or a bad thing for the Canadian Public as a whole?

Good if you're buying stuff (millitary equipment etc)

Bad if you're selling stuff (lumber, steel, manufactured goods)

Good if you're paying down debt. (we still have some of that)

If you are an ordinary Canadian that wants to take advantage of this, plan a trip to the U.S. Currently Canadian retailers have not changed their prices to reflect the current exchange. Luckily with the internet we can see how we are being gouged.
