Yup. I didn't even quit when I was having a stroke. But quit shortly after, when I could feel the clot in my brain with every drag. Stayed quit too, because everyone around me that smoked was dead from it.

I kind of flipped out a few times during COVID when the shortages caused a major disappearance of the Monster Punch drinks from the shelves. That's my addiction, as shown by my driving around to multiple locations trying to find them and getting frustrated being unable to get any.

That's my addiction, as shown by that kind of borderline desperate behaviour. I can stop alcohol with no problem. I only do edibles when I want to and not because I need to. I can adjust my diet to either add or subtract something and not even notice it a day later. Give up the sugary goodness though, like a couple of Monsters and some kind of a chocolate bar every day? That's so instinctively horrific to even contemplate that I get a major headache just from thinking about how bad the withdrawal from artificial sweets must be. Nightmarish! aaahhhhhh! 8O

My roommate at the hospital when I was waiting to get my heart operation had a stroke and was waiting for his too. Younger than me, short and thin guy who work a physical job who was due to get a bunch of bypasses (I didn't know at the time that you could get that many :? ). I knew he was a smoker since they put him on a patch and I'll sure he drank a bit too. He died either on the operating table or later the same day.

Both of us were smokers for years and years. I cold turkeyed 3 years ago and was getting antsy after a year. She had asthma, bad diabetes coughs, gasps, shortness of breath... she went to vapes and I broke down and went to those shortly after.
Well she started to get real sick, they finally diagnosed small cell lung cancer and she was dead four days later.
Shit. I was 8 years older and a much heavier smoker than she was.

I vowed to cold turkey the vaping as soon as the shit calmed down. The memorials are done, her ashes are out in her garden, her bills are settled and her kids sent the $$ left in her account.
Just the assholes at Scotiabank Visa left who want interest from after she passed away. They can suck my dick.

But just went through Thanksgiving alone w a turkey sandwich. Then wahhh it would've been her 61st birthday, now its Xmas coming no one bugging me to take her shopping, all I can do is Interac the kids some money, don't want to go near a store.
I will stop altogether soon. Maybe a NewYears resolution...

When you quit smoking and get the urge, just remind yourself why you quit.

The hardest smoke is the first one. Don't have that first one, for as long as you can. The first couple days are the hardest, but even after 15 years I see someone smoke and I want one. Just a little bit though.

No one ever died from not smoking.

I quit many years ago, but I was never a heavy smoker.

Both my parents smoked, so I was a smoker from birth. I didn't actually smoke until I moved out after University. Working nights, and up North, where smoking and drinking are the typical social activities didn't help.

I'm guessing that he didn't read the fine print, or didn't care at the time.

Due to the secondary epidemic of respiratory infections and flus going on among children right now the latest shortage is that of anti-nauseants like Gravol on the drug store shelves. Getting impossible to find them, especially the gentler ginger-based tablets or capsults. It's not just the kids medicine that's all gone now, it's spilled over into the off the shelf remedies for adults. :|

There was no 'fine print'. The dealership said he signed an 'offer to purchase', not a sales contract. Since the sales for production on things like EVs are totally sold for 5 years, dealerships can do unethical, but totally legal things, and consumers can take it dry.

But what goes around comes around, and dealerships need repeat business.
