They count on us when their backs are to the wall, and we don't mind that. I'm sure Nova Scotians are happy to do it. Canadians took in hundreds of thousands on September 11. Complete strangers into our homes and treated them as honoured guests. And we were better for it.<br /> <br /> Guess we'll have to put up a monumnet somewhere that says "Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses . .."<br />

Yes, perhaps instead of getting POd about the lack of consideration of our friends to the south I should concentrate on all the good things that we do for them (and other nations). But then our Canadian Ambasisdor may acuse us of being smug and full of ourselves!
