Having a hard time in social situations and being uncomfortable when in charge. I got discharged over it.
That would not disqualify you from emmigrating. Having an offer of employment would help your situation. Some of the others on the forum who have successfully gone through the process can give you better advice than I.
Being "socially awkward" or not, is not a qualification for immigration. Neither are discharges.
Work experience, education, age, relatives, English skills etc etc are. It is also a good thing if you are not sick, don't have AIDS or something (diabetes or whatever is no big deal), no psychiatric past (as in being hospitalized) no criminal record (or have it waived).

www.cic.gc.caA job lined up is ALWAYS a better way to immigrate, but not the easiest to do. Also, when you start this, it is a LONG road you have to travel, and your patience will be tried. It took me 27 months from day of application till the day I landed. I am from The Netherlands tho, not from the US.
