You gotta wonder why so many Cubans risk life and limb, some of them using nothing more than inner tubes ties together, to make it to the US. If Cuba is such a wonderful place.

As the Castro's leave the scene you'll likely see the true power of the people emerge, with the growth of freer markets. True freedom is choosing what you can buy and sell, not what the government tells you you can.

$1:
Hopefully they slapped on that Canadian flag patch.

That flag patch doesn't really carry as much weight as it once did, and hasn't for awhile, but you're not really well travelled are you.

Does that honestly matter anymore in this day and age?

Well, you'll be sadly disappointed when one day you make it outside of Medicine Hat....and Greyhound will only take you to the States. And, the thing is, most Americans don't do the Maple Leaf patch either.

Why would it take me to the states? Why would I bother with Greyhound when it's probably Air Canada that I need?

I plan on visiting America one day.

I'm sorry, it's not at the top of the list.

Wow now its not just the south.. they are saying it about the whole US!

but I don't feel that way :)

that flew over your head

Considering he feels all muslims shouldn't be allowed in Canada, I'm so happy he isn't a Conservative. If he was I'd be working hard to get his ass banned for blanket racist statements like that.

So pay no heed to the geriatric ramblings of this idiot.

I would never be a right wing nut bar racist autocrat supporting tory.. C stands for con in conservative which is what they do a great job at.
and I am far from geriatric.. And not only do I think we shouldn't allow Muslims in country, I don't think we should allow you to live in Québec!

Quebec is odd, with their hate-socialist politics and beliefs.

They put left-wing politics to shame.

Although I don't know much Anti-Muslim Quebec talk. I sorta doubt that's very big, but I don't know.

Canadaka Canadaka:
I know a lot of people that goto Cuba and enjoy it because there are very few americans there.

I know alot of people that like to goto Vermont and enjoy it because there are very few Blacks and Hispanics there.

How does that sound?? mind you Vermont is about 98% white. Sound very racist, thats how you sound.

I moved to Ottawa a couple of years ago ding dong. Want to know why ? Because idiots in the Hull/Aylmer riding are voting Bloc more and more. The last federal election they where only shy by 2% of the votes from wining. The time before that it was 4%. For an area that realies heavely on federal jobs that vote for a separatist party. I found it unaceptable and moved. It says alot about the people and where their priorities lie, me, me, me fuck the rest of the country. It's just a matter of time before they win. So I decided to get the hell out of dodge. That's the primary reason.

Gatineau has been Bloc for a couple of terms now. Lovely city with backwards thinking people with whom the majority are to afraid to visit Ottawa.

Hull/Aylmer has been a Liberal stronghold forever. Even though I'm Conservative. was ok living there under the Liberals. But there's no way in hell I'm going to live in a riding under separatist control with an aversion to speaking english while championing Official bilingualism in Parliment for the rights of Francophones every where else in the country.

So get bent racist.

Hey everyone. I usually just ghost these forums, but since I saw this thread again, I figured this link might be relevant.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8143780.stm

Americans are apparently a mixed bag, but still considered one of the worlds best tourists, according to expedia uk. The cuban service people will love those big tippers!

Right... back to observing you Canadians in ghost mode.

Wow, glad to see this topic is on topic and no one is going off on weird side tangents. Nice to see this thread find it's way along to finally get to the racism card being played, I didn't know that "American" was a race to begin with, nicely done all. I think this thread needs to be locked for awhile so that all concerned can ponder their next enlightened comments on the subject at hand. If anyone has issue with others comments they should follow the site protocol and either report the post or send a PM to a member of the moderating staff for consideration. Have a wonderful Friday everyone...
