I didn't realize the USN kept you up to speed on all their submarines?! Hormel26C posted your pictures and an article shortly after it happened this year. His experience was a few years ago, but I can't say for sure....it may have been longer. He was an officer and has since retired.

If you dry dock a submarine and the response to how it got damaged is just scratching your head and saying 'no comment' it lends to a bigger story then if you had simply lied, or fessed up. "Vengeful Whale Attack" might be a good one to try to save embarassment. =)

Besides its not like we're going at it with any naval powers anymore... Quite honestly, the only naval powers that are still around we're either have a history of engaging in war games with, or helping fund parts of their military (russia).
