I heard that June 16 is kind of a deadline for American deserters to leave Canada.

Also: "....Parliament's lower house passed a nonbinding motion Tuesday allowing U.S. military deserters and their families to stay in Canada, but the Conservative government was likely to ignore the vote.

There are thought to be about 200 U.S. military deserters in Canada to avoid service in Iraq...."

I want to appeal to Canadians to call their mp's and demand that Canada give asylum to all American deserters and other undesirables! We Americans do not want them back!

Taking in deserters is such a Canadian thing to do! If you don't take these guys, our image of Canada will be shattered! If this works out, then we can release felons and sex offenders near the border too.. with pockets full of Canadian money. Yes, we would say to them, "There's the border, here's some Canadian money that can't be spent here... If you show up here, then it's back to jail. get it?"

Now I don't hate Canada, I love Canada. But this is just too good of an opportunity to pass up. And we all know that Canada is the place to run to.

I am worried.. you can help us by humiliating our secret police by harboring our political prisoners. America really should try to be more like Canada minus the liberals... you know, laid back, no carrier groups wandering the oceans. I would love to bring all our troops home, keep all our Navy ships in port for a couple of years. For sure Americans need a Canadian attitude adjustment. Count the days.... Bush will be out of office in seven months! The nightmare will be over.

I almost feel good about France now that Szarkozy is the president. He was elected because the French got tired of hearing the Liberal Socialist promises and all they were getting was no ability to work a full 40 hours or you would get a fine.
Total problems with the Muslim communities that they let run rampant for fear of reprisals and political correctness. No the people spoke and elected a conservative to clean up the mess like they always do. Were GWB a true conservative the US would be in better financial shape too.

Yeah, I don't know how they manage to get past the sentry guns and heat guided missiles, but we don't want them back. Consider it their prize for managing to escape the death squads. I sincerly hope Death Squad #4527 is punished. They already let like 7 people across the border this year!

I have a compromise though. If these people feel they were being misled about joining up they should offer to repay the government all money that was spent in training them and perhaps a we bit more as an early out penalty. Maybe then they could be allowed to go.
