For example the out and about thing?
Thought it would be interesting

Just the other day, getting passport photos for our Canadian passports. The girl taking the pictures says "Oh, Canada. Are you from there or just going on a trip?"

We should have said we were just going on a trip and that we also needed photos for our German passports since we planned on going there also.

dumbass.

This is not the stupidiest question asked, but worth a mention:

I was asked once by a girl in the States where I was from. I replied Canada. She then proceeded to say `` oh !!!! You are so polite and courteous, I figured you were Canadian``.

The basis of my comment is this: Do Canadians have that stereotype, I mean of being a very polite and courteous people. Cause it's not the first time that I have heard that. Taken that it's not a bad thing either lol !!!

I went to Florida 2 years ago for spring break. We were at this strip club and this stripper ask my friends and I where we were from. I replied"Minnesota". She replied"Oh thats in Canada right? Near Ontario? We get alot of tourists from Canada." I laughed and just shook my head, and told her Yup. I didnt want to make her cry. Strippers arent known for their Geography knowledge. She had a nice pair of (.) (.) though.

My buddy was asked for his zip code at a local store (they do that a lot here for some reason, some kind of stat). He informed her that he didn't have a zip because he was from Canada, and that all he had was a postal code. She asked for the postal code.

The computer wouldn't accept it. 8O

He explained that its because it is a Canadian postal code, not a US zip code. To which she replied "but that's weird, we had a guy in here from Texas just the other day and his worked fine".

The one question that still sticks in my mind when I first moved out here:

"Can you still see Cowboys & Indians shooting at each other, like in Western movie?"

me:"sure all the time" 8O

dude: drool !!!!!!!!!!! tell me more, what's it like?

me: ack, you just know the right times to avoid the highways, banks, post offices.

dude: you mean they really shoot at each other?

me: sure until the director say's "cut!!! it's a rap"

OK I give the dude a break since he had one too many, but still :x

A funny comment:

My Aunt Laura who lived in San Diego at the time:"Michael, close the window! I'm sure he (me) is cold!"

Michael:"What are you talking about?! He's from Canada, this is warm weather to him!!!!!"

Stupidest question ever asked: "Canada, EH??? Where's your beaver, EH????? Do you really live in Igloos EH???? Waether not to hot fer ya, EH??????"

Retard. I said to him: "Yeah, we do live in igloos, and because we're so nice, we're gonna give you our igloos and our cold weather to go with that!!"

Standing at the Sumas border crossing after being on EX in Ft Lewis Wa. We were getting cleared by Canada Customs because of our souvvie shopping. Each of our vehicles had a clearly visible colour national insignia (Canada flag) as did our uniforms. The vehicle plates are "Canada" plates and we are clearly not wearing anything close to American uniform. A couple of teens pull up and ask one of the troops where we're from. Chilliwack BC is the reply. Really? says the driver. Yep. The driver then says "We don't like American soldiers, go invade someone else." "But..but.." the troop doesn't even get out a reply when the teens pull a u-turn and start yelling "Yankee go home!" and go zipping back up the highway towards Abbotsford. The Customs guy just shakes his head and waved us through. The Mounties nailed the kid for speeding a couple klicks up. They earned the finger from each vehicle as we turned onto Vye Rd to go home.

I was down in California last spring break and ended up hanging out with a large number of them. Not all of them are questions, but still sort of funny and worth mentioning.

Him: "Wow, you're from Canada, do you know where Ontario is?"
Me: "Yeah..."
Him: "OK, I know this kid from there his name is Dan, do you know him?"

They impressed me by proving that they knew we didn't live in igloos, I however was slightly less impressed when they thought Alaska was a part of Canada.

I get that one a lot...

Them: Where you from?

Me: I'm from Alberta Canada.

Them: Really? I once knew a guy from Alberta. Dave was his name.

Me: You're kidding?! Dave was my neighbour up until about a month ago. He just moved. I guess the operation was a success eh? You can hardly tell he was a guy anymore.

When people ask me if it's cold in Canada, I say: "Nah, but we do get pretty frustrated when we can't get the keg to thaw at -63 C. Other than that, we're happy and warm."
