Why would anyone be compensated because their child got murdered? Compensated by whom? Sue the murderer.

Although it is easy for me to say...

I agree. But that doesn't mean that traumatized people should be denied existing services.

I didn't read the whole "article" (I read the newspaper clipping tho) and I still do not understand who should compensate them, and what for.

If they ended up with a mental illness, that can be diagnosed by a psychologist/psychiatrist, and there are services out there they can talk to. Even in the small town where I live there is free counseling...

Free councelling in Toronto? not a chance.

That so called article you linked to isn't about services, it's about MONEY.

Try again, moron.

If you've got an agenda, grab a set and spit it out. Don't post phony newspaper articles and throw a pity party.

That just ain't the way we roll.

How 'bout "Create a username that doesn't consist of broken English and post a real article if you want anyone to take you seriously before you get your loser ass banned"?

I like it. :D

I have mixed feelings about victime's compensation.

If my child is murdered, why would this be different than if he gets killed on his bike, falling down the stairs or from some illness?

The government doesn't compensate me for those.
