Alright Canadaka, Here's the situation, On the first page of this topic, you explained in detail how to upload a signature. You got what i think is pictures underneath each instruction to show people which part your talking about. For some strange reason, my computer ( which is a brand new one ), is blocking them. So, all i can do is read the instructions and try my best to follow them and try to work out which part your talking about. I've tried everything to get my computer to unblock those pictures, but it won't let me so I've had it. I'm no gonna bother uploading a signature now so thanks for the detailed instructions anyway.

UPDATED GUIDE

Adding a picture to your sig is a fairly simple process, CKA even offers signature file/image hosting. I actualy prefer if people upload there sig images rather than link to them.

1) Goto Signature Upload Page
Click the "Signature Hosting" link in the main menu

2) Upload Signature
Here is the upload module, click the browse button and select the file/picture on your harddrive, then press submit.



Now you should see your file listed here, click on it



Copy the URL of the file (highlight - Ctrl+c)





3) Edit your signature

The forums feature an easy to use signature editor and preview. You can preview your signature before applying it.
Signature Editor
(also accessable via your forum profile edit page)

Press the "IMG" button, this will fill the text field below with the start of the bbcode image tag.
After the tag paste the url to your signature image, that you copied in the steps above.
Then press the "IMG" button again to close the tag.


Now you can press preview and see if it works, if it doesn, press "done" to apply the changes.

please keep your signature image filesizes small! There is no need for a 100kb signature image, please compress your images for the web.

Signatures should be no taller than 100pixels MAX! Prefer ones that are half that, short and wide, rather than tall and narrow.

Hey Trev, if your still there take a look at the bottom of my sig, that's what keep coming up when I try to put in the picture.

I think i'm gonna start crying in a minute.

Yeah, you are allowed 5000 characters, but the thing really only seems to allow... around 500.

Possibly whats happening to you rightnow, Jazz.

Okay Trev, Ignore the last post cause were almost there. I messed around with the signature copying and pasting and deleting and stuff and I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING.

The problem now is it's not showing up on the forums. It coming up as ....... well you can see it on my posts what it looks like.

If you can help me work out what the problem is now, it will finally show up and I can finally calm down and stop screaming at my computer.

Hey cheers for pointing that out ziggy.

Unfortunately i've now found something else wrong. When I put in the URL and the IMG on either side, it looks like this.



but when I preview it or save it, it ends up like this

You should have noticed that the end of the URL is suppose to say "fry_dance4_animate[/img]". Why it's doing this I don't know. Maybe it's cause i'm trying to put too much into my signature or something. What do you guy think ?.

Oh yeah and you can probably see what i've been trying to put in my sig this whole time. What you think of it ?. Is it alright ?.

Maybe its too long,you did manage to turn it into a broken link though man.

I'm pretty sure its too long Jazz..... try taking out you quote and see if it works then...

the siganture database field has a 255 character limit.
its cutting it off
so you have to work with that, other along quote or a picture. can't have both.

Maybe i will see about shortening the url to the uploaded sig files, its pretty long, that would save characters.
