No but most of us that are here all the time would remember that sort of thing.

Frankly, the best indicator of someone's rep to me is that little Gold Leaf by their name.

If you care enough to supporty the site then that's about all I could ask of your reputation. Left or right, that little Gold Leaf says a lot to me.
I disagree with you, I have donated in the past, but can't afford it now. Am I a worse member than you?

Ditto, when I was richer I coughed up a hun.Havent worked since October so I hear ya.

That wouldn't be a bad idea.

Canadaka Canadaka:
$1:
Allows users to give reputation points to each others, earn it by posts and by "living" on forum, see the history of givings. Admin can edit users' reputations in admin cp. The whole system can be a text or a graphic version (5 different medals) and simple or advanced version (with choosing of how much reputation to give).

Might be a cool thing to add, some other forum software has this type of thing built in now.
Only negative I can see is it will add more database queries to the viewtopic page, but should only be a couple.

How come my screens don't look like those? The colors are different?

UPDATE

I have added a new reputation system, I am still working on transfering any old reputation from the old forum over.

Reputation power
The total point you give to other members is based on rep power you have. The default rep power is '0', user will gain 1 rep power after posting 100 posts. Rep power can increase by user post factor and user membership day factor.

There is also an option in your "User Control Panel" under "Board preferences" where you can choose to hide your reputation.

These are the settings I have for now:

- 25 points = 1 green block (the first green block will start to show after +1 point)
- 1 Rep Power for every 5,000 posts
- 1 Rep Power for every 2 years
- Max 5 Rep Power
- CKA Mods have a Rep Power of 5

- You can only give out 1 rep every 12 hours
- You can't give rep to the same person unless you've given rep to 5 other people since you last gave rep to that person.

It seems the membership start dates are set to default for everyone except the Mods and Admins.

Also, is it intentional that the details of rep can't be seen? All that's visible is the rep points count. Who left it an what the comment was can't be seen. Or am I just not looking in the right place?

Sorry the old one can't be transfered over, this is the best one i've found for phpbb3.

I may lower the time resriction a bit, but its there so people don't go wild giving out rep on every post.

You can see your own reputation comments on your "User Control Panel" Overview page: ucp.php

There isn't a way to view others reputation at this point, this is something I will probabyl add in myself because I like that feature.

Its just a way of giving credit for a good post, if you really liked the post someone made you can press the little "add rep" button below there avatar. Image

Then the idea is after some time the most respected posters will have high reputation points and a new member could easily see that. Its also just another fun little feature, many forums have some sort of reputation or karma system.

have seen it elsewhere and it will also become a tool for the cheap shots to hi five someone bashing another or to jab them when they don't agree with you.
I don't think it should be displayed if you choose to keep it, only have it as a personal report card in your profile page.
Noticed Kenmoore is minus 5 already.
I think it would be less personal if you rated the post instead of the poster. It would carry less of a mark on the member and encourage more on the postings.
My opinion

you are rating the post, but rating the poster as well since the poster made the post.

Anyone can choose to not show there reputation, there is an option in the "user control panel" under "Board preferences".
