Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Character Map

It's a listing of all the characters you can make, and how to make them.

I just click 'Start' and then 'Run...' Type in charmap and you're there.

I might be bothered to remember the keyboard codes for a few handy characters (like ² or °) but I don't have a numeric keypad on my laptop.

When you want to post a url but you want to change the url to read as a headline or something, it used to give you the option. How do you do that now?

Just as I wrote.

Do as Hyack suggested... open a reply window and hover your mouse over the URL button. In light gray, you'll see some instructions right above the window.
