If flying flags is showing that you're proud of your country, then several countries in Europe have a problem.

It is prohibited for a private citizen in The Netherlands to fly a flag other than on Queensday and royal birthdays (with the exception of when you graduate and hang your backpack on it too) and businesses have to take it down at dusk and not put it back on the pole till dawn.
