This is kind of funny...so I was talking to my friends about my upcoming trip and they asked a couple of questions...

1. They actually have roller coasters in Canada?!?!

2. Arent you going to have a hard time driving all the dirt roads?

3. Were are you going to get internet in Canada?

Now it probaly didn't help that I said we are going way up north but I mean still

Do us a favour and slap them in the face for being so ignorant.

^Meh, some of the people here follow into those categories  Ever watch "Jerry Springer"?

The way I look at it, stereotypes have to come from somewhere...whether they are a rare occurrence or a common one.

That reminds me of a another one, when we were at out hotel near Toronto last summer one of my friends said "is it ok to drink the tap water"?

However, I never knew that Canada had so many American fast food chains and TV shows until posting on here.

Ya, but they perpetuate that on purpose.

Come and visit my country. We've got a lot people who think Americans are exactly like you said. :D
Those people think they can't be proved wrong... ...sad, I know...
But coaster_dot is right, stereotypes are sometimes based on true experiences that stick in mind...

Okay, so this was just asked on a different forum...

"Isn't Canada still part of Britain? I thought that's why they speak so funny..."

Some other ones I like to debunk are when Americans say: "why, <enter subject here> is as American as baseball, hotdogs and apple pie" adn then I come in with: "Actually, the first recorded baseball game as well as baseball's oldest stadium were/are in Canada. Also, apple pie is ours and hot dogs(bastard bratwurst) were made by Germans in Germany." :P

^The best part about living in Wisconsin :D

But the whole baseball and America thing is always interesting to me. I mean Baseball is "Americas Pastime"...yet the NFL Superbowl is the most watched TV show in America.

And then isn't Lacrosse "Canada's game"? ...yet it seems like everyone watches hockey
