Second question from a new member

I am trying to validate the hypothesis that naval officer and stateman ALexander Grant (Upper Canada, late 18th century) was the uncle of John Grant (c. 1748-1817) merchant and forwarder who lived in Lachine, from the 1780's.

SOrting out this Grant family in Lachine, from other numerous Grant families in and arounf Montreal, is not an easy task.

Hello Marchellena,

I too have been compiling slim threads on the family of John Grant of Lachine and have some nuances of the relationship with to Commodore Alexander Grant. I'm not related, I just hide in his time period and I am very familiar with the resources available in "Upper Canada." We should get together I'm at cloudbanks(at)kos.net
