Second question from a new member

I am trying to validate the hypothesis that naval officer and stateman ALexander Grant (Upper Canada, late 18th century) was the uncle of John Grant (c. 1748-1817) merchant and forwarder who lived in Lachine, from the 1780's.

SOrting out this Grant family in Lachine, from other numerous Grant families in and arounf Montreal, is not an easy task.
