Well the deal is majority of non western credentials are not regocnised and its no news flash not many people from the west want to migrate to Canada. Might be bitter but is a fact.
Having recently jumped around Ozzie immgration forums, a lot of Brits and Americans going down under aswell.
And if you think Canadian immigration is not lax, look at Australian then. For Canada once you apply you have to go tons of hoops, you must know that yourself. Its just that Canada has a wide variety of occupation listed that can qualify. Some really strange ones too.
Australia has narrowed the gate for only real skilled people can get in and not professions like Dry Cleaning supervisor and Sawmill Machine Operators which are actually mentioned on the list. I think a weeks training at best and any Canadian or non Canadian for that matter can learn to do that if not just a few days. Maybe Canadians don't want those kind of jobs ? I dunno ?
And if professionals have to wait around 2 years to come then atleast another 2 years to actualy be ready to work properly it kinda gets not so sunny looking after a while. And many comming from poorer backgrounds cannot afford to get qualified while here as they don't have enough money or the jobs they are doing are just enough to get them by.
Canada is a very good country if not one of the best but for someone wanting to come there it has to offer more than just a gate pass to the west.
I would still love to come like I said, but on the other hand I also have to be realistic as its the biggest life changing thing I will ever do so I have to "shop" around for the best option. Not get into it half and then realise I should have gone for the Toyota instead of a Honda !
Personaly I know I can make it in either Oz or Canada, my street smarts haven't let me down yet. If worst comes to worst I can buy old bangers fix them up myself and sell for a small profit, slowly moving up to better rides. Or or become a city tour guide ! I have good people skills etc etc many more half cooked plans like that always keep striking my head, enough to keep my head above water until I get steady.
I'm slowly starting to come to terms that Oz could also be a good place to go, and also getting over the wrong side of the road system !
Anyways the thread was for reasons why Canada rocks and is better than Oz. There have been excellent posts here and a barrage of unexpected PM's from a lot of members about the intracacies of moving and living in Canada or Canada Vs Oz. Things if said on the main forum would have been a full on flame war !!! You all know who you are and don't what happens in PM stays in PM.
Sadly I think it will be Oz
But haven't signed the dotted line yet so there is still hope. If any of y'all still want this dude to be neighbours with ya. fire away
