It's a pretty knit-picky test I'll admit. Especially for the general public. Then again it could be structured that way so the news can turn around and say "WOW 80% of the participating public didn't score about 20%" etc.

I always view these news polls/quizzes with skepticism. In some of them I just used logic to figure it out example the one about the Air Force Acrobatic teams.

The Golden Hawks flew Sabre jet fighters, so a group called the "Golden Sabres" would be redundant and totally out of place. So therefore it had to be the wrong one.

Unless you didn't know about a group called the Hawks, but you did know about the Sabre fighter, so you might pick Golden Sabres.

Whoops, I simply took for granted I knew the group was called the Golden Hawks..my bad. Knowing that it was easy to weed out "Golden Sabres".

6/15

1 I definitely knew the answer, 2 or 3 I had a general sense of what the answer was most likely to be, the other 2 or 3 were just lucky guesses.

I still suspect that the test was purposefully made hard ether for someones personal amusement or so that they could "report" how badly people did when it suited their purpose.

Then again maybe not, maybe the person who created the test knew all this stuff first hand its not impossible.

This is a test designed by a history buff for a history buff. The average person would not know many of these answers.

Was kind of impressed that I managed to get the Queenston Heights question, only 6% of the general population got that one. I managed to get 14/15, better than 100% of other respondents, but I'll be honest that I had no clue about any of the medal questions. I could easily have gotten 12 or even 11 if not for luck pushing me up, I was just incredibly lucky that some of the names felt more familiar than others. Had someone come up on me to the road without this multiple choice set up I straight up would not have gotten any of the medal questions except the one about Winnipeg.

The logistical ones like how many ships Canada had at such and such a time, aircraft carriers and such were the only ones I felt super confident about, and the one about the author. I honestly had problems remembering which UNEF was right for a moment and as mentioned I kinda stumbled on the Heights question. I already forget the rest of the questions. Overall, quite happy with my score, even though I know I got it that high more due to luck than to actual knowledge on my part.

Very meh on this test. I know that I should be lower than a few other people in this thread alone and the fact that I'm not (and the fact that they test so little with such little breadth of Canadian history) really does show how strong this test is at identifying those with extensive Canadian military history knowledge. IE, not very.

There are some tricky ones there...

Like "How many aircraft carriers does Canada operate?"

Canada operates exactly as many as the USN does conventional submarines - ZERO.

Shock of all shocks, different countries have different military needs.
