So just to recap, the American contractor that wants to sell us an overpriced jet we don't need while simultaneously attacking our aerospace sector (Bombardier) is one option.
SAAB with a reasonably priced, very capable jet, a history of teaming up with Bombardier, and the desire to further integrate with Bombardier is the other option.
Not sure if doing this to benefit Bombardier is such a good idea. I'd rather buy them stock direct from Sweden as opposed to repeating the ship-building clown show in the aerospace sphere with a company like Bombardier who simply can't survive on their own at all without government bailouts every couple of years of so. Seems the only thing guaranteed in that kind of arrangement would be Canada ending up paying twice the price for an item just because our own unique sort of corruption and buddy/buddy networking will ensure massive over-inflation of costs.
