Curious as to who you will be thinking about/remembering as Nov 11 draws near. Obviously all the war vets, but on a personal note did you have any family members who served?

For me, My Great Grand Uncle 18th Batallion Canadian Expeditionary Force, KIA 27 May 1917 near Arras;
Three of my four grandparents all WWII vets (RCAF, RCA nad RAF), now deceased;
My Great Uncle WWII RCN, Korea RCN (Wounded) now deceased
My very good personal friends that were killed in Afghanistan, in particular Rick Nolan, Scott Vernelli and RJ Wilson [flag]

We will Remember them

The lads I brought back from the Sheffield at ASI in '82. A mate killed at the BMQ's by the IRA in 1989. All those guys I met briefly and died for their mates, their units and their country.

My grandfather served in the navy. For a Graduation gift, my parents gave me framed pictures of him from the war that I had never seen before.

I got a liberated family from it. :)

Parents too young, one Grandfather in a labour camp, one in hiding from the Germans...
for 4 years... makes you wonder why.

I will go to the Remembrance Sunday Service in Milan, it's the only day of the
year I go to Church.
Then to the Milan War Cemetery for some quiet time.

I'll be remembering my grandfather - served in the RCR in Holland. He came back, but by all accounts he was a bit of a mess and he died young.

I don't generally have any personal connections to any of the wars, or at least any connections I know much about that died in the wars. I guess in some ways I feel a bit disconnected from the events themselves as a result. I choose to reflect in general because it would be disrespectful not to do at least this much.

My grandfather...served in India, Burma and Africa. He must have been quite a character in the Army because he made it to Sgt three times. [BB]

MCpl Byron Greff--the most recently Canadian casualty here in Afghanistan. Nobody I know here has been seriously hurt or killed, and I sure hope it stays that way. All the soldiers over here who left their little corner of paradise to come to this hole.

I'd definitely consider that if any of the ones in London did it.
