Ditto. I was thinking when I first saw that vid she was from the US south, Louisinanna or similar 'Bluesy' place. 'England' never went through my mind.

Adele is awesome. She is one of the few talented people around right now, who can mesmerize you with her voice, without computer gimmicks, and by just being her. Fantastic.

First time I've heard anything about Adele I must admit. Not bad at all.
There's piles of very talented people out there who not only have amazing voices but know how to use them. They may not have the same style but:

She is great for sure. Though, I thinks it's unfair to dump on Amy Winehouse. Not out of respect for the recently departed but because of their different styles. Winehouse was more of a Jazz sound whereas Adele is more of Soul type sound.
It's also nice to Adele succeeding because she doesn't look like all the other cookie-cutter pop tarts who can't sound good without auto-tune.
