The producer Timbaland seems to have used a song from a finish musician and used it for the song "Do it" by Nelly Furtado

Many songs share the same common chord progressions. G D C for example can be found in thousands of songs. Not sure why this is a big deal.

I agree. When you have an industry that makes every one of their performers clones the sound is gonna be very similar or the same.

The days of musicians who wrote and sang their own songs is gone, now it's about selling a look and persona rather than the music. Hence acts like Britanny Spears, Ashley Simpson or Lady GAGA.

The Music industry is dystopian, none of the music has any voice, no soul or message. Kids these days aren't rebels, their idiots listening to idiot music... Everyone knows and listens to the same bloody well known bands.

I think I heard some of these foreign artists do actually sell the music rights to their songs to big North American producers since they make more money form that then their actual song. Not sure how true that is or how often anyone bothers to ask them if they want to sell the tune though.
