Raitt got caught red handed and nothing is being denied at all. She DID leave those documents behind and she DID say those things on the tape.
On the first issue of the documents you are dead wrong:
Quote:
On June 3, 2009, Ms. MacDonnell resigned from her position as Communications Director as a result of having left a binder containing secret documents pertaining to the affairs of the Department of Natural Resources at CTV’s Ottawa studios following an interview there with Minister Raitt.
As for the second issue of the tape, what did she get caught doing? Trash talking about a co-worker? Show of hands here please, who is not guilty of talking negatively about a co-worker? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?
What is the woman guilty of Derb? Having a private conversation where she talked about a topic and used a poor choice in words? Wow, that's a pretty serious offence there. Yes it was inappropriate and extremely stupid but it was a private conversation which unbeknownst to her was being taped. If we're going to put forward a standard that anything an MP says regardless of it's in private or not then we're setting the bar pretty high. If anything the Liberals may want to watch their backs on this one because I have a feeling this will come back to haunt them.
