If Michael Ignatieff makes a major factual error in front of the country, will any reporter make a sound?

That's the question many Canadians must be asking themselves after Liberal leader Ignatieff claimed the corporate tax rate was 18% in his first press conference of the election campaign.

We all know the corporate tax rate is 16.5% as of January 1, 2011.

Sorry -t this is just reformacons twisting their panties into a knot. What Ignatieff meant was that tax rates at 18% are already competitive, as he said. Ie compared to world rates they're competitive at the rate he would raise them to. As he's said in his platform. Nothing unclear about it. Jeez guys, find something real to go on about, will ya.

We have the lowest corporate taxes of all the G8. Next year there will be another cut. Meanwhile we have run up the largest deficit in Canadian history. Having the taxes back to 18% would be a baseline to start paying for what Harper has already spent.

The Reformacons want to turn us into another Ireland. Not a good idea. Ireland is sucking at the EU tit, but refusing to raise corporate taxes. Meanwhile the average Irish working man is fucked.

Wow! What a monstrous mistake! He's sure to lose the election now... :roll:

Call me when he makes a doozy like this one Harper made in the last election;

Quote:
"While it has slowed down considerably, and while there remains this considerable instability, the American economy has not crashed, has not itself entered into recession," he told reporters in Ottawa.

"My own belief is if we were going to have some sort of big crash or recession, we probably would have had it by now."

http://uk.reuters.com/article/2008/09/1 ... 3320080915

Or this;

Quote:
"Our position in this election is we're not going to run deficits," Harper told reporters after the Conservative Party platform was released. "I think it would dangerous to sort of fly off in that direction now."

Then in response to the Reformacon auto-response of stimulus dollars..

Nobody is saying the stimulus wasn't necessary. Only that Harper spent too long telling everyone that it wasn't necessary, and he was completely wrong when everyone else was saying it was.

Funny, the CPC seems to be running attack ads with Iggy quotes from 2008 and older.

Don't take this the wrong way, but that sounds like an invitation to some sort of drunken gay sex vacation... :lol:
