You're right. Members of the CPC are furious over this stupidity.

Partisan BS aside....

This is a bad move for our economy. The damage, 9+% on the TSX (worst drop since '87), has already been done before this has even taken place.

Spending 30 billion blindly will leave Canada in the same situation as Ontario under Rae.

This government, while it may satisfy the power hungry needs of the left, will do nothing to aid the Canadian economy and will leave us trying to recover for decades.

Yes, Harper was an idiot and it's 'cool' for the Left to form a coalition to kick Harper out....but in the big picture, this is a massive mistake which has already caused serious financial damage.

You don't feel that Harper has to share some of the blame for this? The "shot across the bow" the instant he got back into the House? Come on. Be realistic. If you are dependent on your roommates to stay in the apartment, and the first thing you do when you get home is to sucker punch them all? And then you're surprised when they hit back and vote to take away your TV-viewing rights?

What happened to the "we promise to work more closely with the Opposition"? The NDP may have been plotting to bring down the government for some time, but they would never have gotten the support to pull it off had the Cons not pulled this stunt the first day back.

Seriously, what was it, a test to see how far they could push the Opposition this time around?

It pretty much makes clear that we have a lot of selfish self-important people in Ottawa.

Harper goes for the jugular, knowing the other parties can't do anything but respond to stay alive and relevant.

Layton, Dion, and Duceppe have been considering a coalition long before the economic update.

If these people cared about Canada they would have tried to make it work for at least a month or two.

I'm pretty sure "not caring" is part of the orientation when you get to Ottawa. ;)
