You'd think Canada would learn from the mistakes it made in trying to help Canadians out of Lebanon during the 2006 Lebanon war. Unfortunately they didn't. Canada again acted too late in helping Canadians out of Gaza while other countries were able to get their nationals out. Now 39 Canadians are trapped in Gaza:

Errrrrr....what are they doing there? Are they under a Canadian mandate? If not, they are volunteers and should usher themselves out at their own expense.

Why should Canada have to rescue people who are voluntarily in a war zone supporting a terrorist regime?

Lebanon was a different story all together, The people they rescued had dual citizenship and most of them were Lebs. I would bet that the majority of them returned to Lebanon right after that war. I say if you hold dual citizenship and you choose to live in a country other than Canada, you should suck it up and pay the piper for your choices.

Hold on. These immigrants opted to travel to Gaza eventhough they were well aware of the dangerous situation in the region.

For most of them it's often a citizenship of convenience more than anything else. As it was for the previous Lebanon situation, Actual Canadian Taxpayers were outraged. They chose to immigrate to Canada, then stay out of the homeland, it's that simple.
