Name, rank and serial number is all he would have to provide, that is, if he were a real soldier. Then the Geneva convention would apply. In fact I bet that if he were a real soldier, he would have been treated differantly in all of this, as would all of those guys in Guantanamo. Military court. Circumstances are differant here though. None of those guys were real soldiers. But they are also to dangerous to just let go.
Also I am sure that with CSIS and the Americans there was the old "good cop/bad cop" routine on 'Lil Omar. If that doesn't work, they'll just get the pakistanis to do it for them.
