OH MY FUCKING GOD IGGY FLUBBED A GUY'S FIRST NAME! THIS MUST BE THE FIRST TIME IN ALL RECORDED HISTORY SOMEONE SCREWED UP SOMEBODY'S NAME! HE'S CLEARLY UNFIT TO BE PM IF HE'S SO FUCKED UP AND IGNORANT AND STUPID!
Please. He got the last name right, so unless there's reason to believe otherwise, he probably just made a slip of the tongue and subbed one famous Gates's first name for the other, the kind of slip we are all, as humans, prone to making from time to time. I get called by my last name from time to time, by people who know my first name. One guy keeps calling me by another name that starts with the same letter, but he knows who I am. My parent's would routinely swap my name for my brother's growing up, just as I swap my kids' names.
Unless there's reason to believe that Iggy actually thinks that the founder of Microsoft is the Secretary of Defence, then there's nothing more to it than human nature.
Also I have to note that on the one hand Iggy's being tarred as a self-serving, self-identified American and then almost in the same breath is being accused of ignorance of America. Can't even keep an attack narrative straight. Yeesh.
