I say Red Tory is the best solution. I have proof for this. From 1943-1985, Red Tories ruled Ontario and made it better. I don't think that Blue Tories would work in Canada, I say this because they are alittle too far to the right for most Canadians. Red Tories work and it shows. Blue Tories are the righter than what the Conservative party is right now. Or think of original Reform Party.
Red Tories are the left of the new Conservative Party. Think of Bill Davis, Belinda Stronach, and John Tory as Red Tories.

The question should be, do we want someone more idealogically pure in his/her views, or do we want a moderate/pragmatist who knows how to get elected.

The Liberals under Martin are basically red tories. Actually some of them are a fair bit bluer than red tories.

You're right though, Big Blue...the CPC needs to move to the left, especially on social policy, if they want to get elected. The Harperites control the party though, and they would move to the right if they thought they could.

Are we going with colour differentiation now? I was getting bored with 'left' and 'right'.

Everyone is basically purple after elected.

The problem is that the Lberals are so huge in the center that the Tories can't really move to the left much.

The Liberals will be whatever the electorate wants because the only thing that's important is to stay in power.
I want a old testimate, fire & brimstone, damn you all to hell reformer!

I prefer a liberal federal leader, but a conservative MP.

You're joking, right?

AND, I agree that the Conservative party should change their stances on a number of social issues. You know, join the rest of us in the 21st century.

There's a fine line between "tradition" and "obselete". On a number of issues, the Conservative party (which I support, by the way) strays into the wrong side of this line, and I would be pleased as punch if this were to change.

I would prefer a normal coloured person. Blue means lack of oxygen and red means burnt so ....LMAO
