Definitions of invasive on the Web:

trudeau once said that the government has no right in the bedrooms of canadians, and this was a referance towards sexual preferences not firearms.

However, what is so wrong with a properly stored firearm in the bedroom of a free and lawful canadian?

And why would - why should - a victimless crime like refusal to renew the registration of such a firearm justify an invasive search of the bedroom?

My father-in-law is a collectionor of firearms since decades. He has a lot of WW1 (ONE) firearms from both the Allies and the Germans that NEVER fired ONE cartridge. He also have some firearms from the Civil War of the USA, in mint conditions. He has a lot more, in a big safe with some guns that he usually just shine. He is an instructor to give courses for the people who wants the proper permits. The Sureté du Québec and the RCMP even call him some times to have information. (enter key, enter key, enter key (doesn't know why it doesn't work here...) But, 3 times, the Sureté du Québec went at his place to verify that everything was OK. The permits, the registrations, how he was storing them. Yeah they searched the house without mandate, the law allows this. The three times, it was related to people who made complaint and know he had firearms and because of his job, they were frustrated. When the police receive a complaint, they have all the right to search the house for the firearms and you better have all your papers.(enter, enter, enter, enter) So yes, it is VERY invasive.
