And I will tell you one thing for sure My personal healthcare insurance, which I happily pay for which covers one hundred percent of medical costs for me and my family gives me better healthcare than yours!

jees just read it you might learn something through all of your hate.

My hate? If anything, I love America more then you. I can see it's errors. I want America to fix them. You remain blind to them, refuse to acknowledge them and reject any plausibility that something might be wrong with America.

I recognize Canada's problems. I want Canada to fix them. You should recognize America's problems, then perhaps change it so i have less things to "hate".

Instead you just pander around blind and refuse to change your nation, spitting around BS that it's "perfectly fine" or something.

So how about you stop making this about Canada vs. America (something I'm not even doing) and realize that maybe, perhaps, America needs a fix.

Until then, I will remain convinced that I'm far more Pro-American then you.

I scanned manifestdestiny's link and liked it. It's rather long but very believable. One point I'd like to make is there is no information on the cross comparisons of different country's health systems. Just why the USA spends twice the amount the UK spends as a percent of GDP is not known. Of course the USA boasts the greatest brain surgens and that but the cost elsewhere is half.

Like you I have employer provide healthcare which saves me loads on ancillary care.

So what? The real deal was all those years I didn't and paid nothing for having a broken arm or needed to see a doctor.

As I said before, you Americans decide for yourselves what system you want and we Canadians will do the same. I prefer ours and I speak as a medical professional who would make probably 30% more if we adopted your system.

I read it and it does not affect me cause I can afford health insurance and I am not ashamed of it . So I know my healthcare is very good! you have the same as the rest of canada unless you can afford AMERICAN hospitals which I doubt, cause un less you are a multimillionare you cant. Be sure your multi millionares come here for healthcare.

It's just as believable when I linked to it 6 months ago showing the strengths of our system and if you read and absorb the text you'll find the same thing.

I can provide you with good detail on just how much Canadians save per year with our system.

Also, ManifestDaydream, just because you are one of the lucky Americans doesn't mean you should piss on your fellow, less fortunate, countrymen. It's not very Pro-American of you.

Bully for you. Piss on those 40 million of your fellow countrymen that can't and piss on the 100 million more who can't afford to get really really sick.

I can provide you with exact details why our system is more efficient.

Your system just puts more money in for less people to provide much better care for far fewer people. Thats why our overall cance and infant survival rates are comperable or better.

Fuck those poor people eh? They deserve it.

Your govt needs that money to bomb foreign countries eh?

Showing your Anti-American colours again, eh?

Why so insistent on making this Canada vs. America?

Tsk tsk. You need to get some pride. Be a real American, look at your country and see it for what it is! It can be great! It doesn't have to look like Canada, but it could sure as hell use a revamp. Follow the American Way, for Christ sakes.

Hmm, looking at the wiki link, Medicare and Medicaid are about half of the spending on health care, but only provide a little less than a 1/3 of coverage for all Americans.

So tell me, how would the government expanding coverage lower our costs? It seems the private sector sure does a better job at it.

I suggest you do a little more research into medicaid and what it entails before commenting.

You are still left with the reality that with a "medicaid" type system made universal and spending less then half per person what you do we have a system that often equals and bests yours.

Thats like out racing a Lamborgini with a volkswagon.

Like I said before, our system does so well because more of our healthcare dollars actually go into healthcare. Alot of yours go into administration, legal, advertising, and other avenues.

Learn from each other. Get it?

Nobody had a perfect Health Care system, certonly not Canada's but if I had to compare it with America's. I would go with Canada's, our wait time has to due with the fact of our low employment regarding doctors and nurses. Not too many people want to be doctors or nurses now a days apparently.

Many doctors, like dentists have to compile many patients on there list for care. However because its Canadian health care and not American. More people will be-able to get treated, while nobody is denied so the hospitals are over-runned by people who need medical care no matter what that is, because its praticly free as they are covered.

Americans health care system is more of a market, or a corporation then a utility used to help the citizens in the country. If you got the money for the treatments, then you are one of the lucky ones. If you do not, then I am sorry Mr. American Citizen but you may not recieve health care. Russian Roulette anybody?

Canada's tax's are high, but with our tax's we can benefit off of all the safety nets it provides us as a Citizen. Safety nets that Americans want, but they would rather choose there expensive cars, houses and luxaries over it and pray to god they do not get sick other-wise they would have to sacrafice those luxaries just to pay there medical bills. What a great system you got MD, truely I am impressed.

Why is it you think that the entire world operates on a Universal Health care system, while only America does not? Even the most poorest countries, and corrupt have a Universal Health care system and there citizens live longer then yours, babies are born more healthier then yours. People get treated better then yours. Truely is sad but hey, why focus on improving your entire crappy health care system when you can just make a failed attempt to compare it to Canada's, by some slim chance that you make it sound better then Canada's. Hell there's a achievment by itself right? Look at America, we made our healthcare system sound more legit then Canada's!! Everybody bow down to our health care might!.

Canada obviously needs to improve its health care system, as it is not perfect. However America's is so far from perfect, that you need to just scrap the entire thing and start fresh with a entirely new idea. Unless of course, your patriotism side wishes to deny your health care is the most crappiest in the world? Besides for the most high-tech medical equipment that is only used upon a certon percent of your population, all more on the rich side then the poor side.

1) Good post. You are thinking.

2) Nobody says we have a perfect system. We have a Universal system and it works quite well considering we are on the low end of the scale for per capita spending.

3) Our taxes are not high compared to the UK and Australia and most of Europe. Only to the US and that will change when they realize that they must pay off their debt with a devalued currency.
