The recent non-sense on parliament hill has caused me to return as i'm asking myself this very question and looking for some feedback as to what other people think about the recent events .

Opposition Leader Michael Ignatieff has made it clear about a month ago he was going to vote against budget . mentioning only the raising corporate tax cut issue as reason he'd not .
he hasn't even seen whats in the budget or any knowledge of its contents , i don't understand how he can say he's going to vote against it and plunge the country into an election .

what if the budget contains some economic measures that help average canadians and the economy in general ? wouldn't it be in the countries best interests to move forward on those ?

i was always under the impress in past years opposition leaders waited till after budget was delivered than announced at press conferences there voting intentions . the liberals can vote against it if they wish but to not even read it and at same time possibly considering pulling the election plug before its even released strikes me as an oddly extreme position to hold

ROTFL

It only shows what politicians are really interested in,
and it isnt the welfare of the country.

+1. We've given them the impression that they work for themselves.

Of course he'll vote against it, it's not his budget so it must be wrong. Isn't that what the opposition is for?

BUT it should be read before making this kind of statement. That way he can at least state his specific reasons for opposing it. And then we'll know what to take into consideration before heading to the polls.

The House and those who infest it seem to be a pox on our nation.

That's because anyone that expresses free thought and good opinions is run out of parties after being labelled as an extremist and independents rarely win anything.

Iggys goal like all politicians is to gain power.

So there's really no need to read the government's budget.

HE may be also be reacting to Harpers negative election commercials that are the same ones he has ran since Iggy first started to lead the Liberals..........

If Iggy and the Libs vote down this budget, they must be delusional. They're getting killed in the polls, slaughtered.

The NDP and Bloc have said exactly the same thing. Cancel the corporate tax cuts. If the Conservatives want to overrule the majority of elected MP's, they should fail.

Why are Liberals and NDP'ers so afraid of corporate tax cuts?

It ain't just corporate tax cuts they're afraid of. The left has always been of the opinion that they can spend your money better than you can. Ya know, cuz we'd just blow it on useless crap like food, shelter, clothes..etc.

What's the problem? Harper and Co. have run back-to-back $50+ billion deficits and he wants to hand out another $60 billion in corporate welfare?!?

If he wants to cut corporate taxes, then he should wait until we're back in a surplus situation. Otherwise, he's just adding to the mountain of debt we already owe.

That's the problem.

You're a corporation, now, are you PA. And you use no government services, so they don't need your stinking tax dollars?
