was thinking about this today and though it be an interesting topic to discuss here . is Michael Ignatieff finished as they say ? after his endless election threats and the coderre quebec , outremont episode he hasn't done so well and the liberals appear to be in trouble . a recent poll had them at something like 23 % and 15 points behind the conservatives . and his only recent solution to this problem has been to focus on issues that the average person pays no attention to or to fixate on office staff . which seems to be a constent solution to his problems , he wants people to think that changing a few staff is going to actually do something . if this continues the ndp might begin to turn into the real opposition and liberals simply spiral into somekind of political oblivion . and course by the next election harper and the conservatives might finally win a majority .

IgnatieF has no future in politics. His MPs are merely dancing around the issue.

He's done like Dion. :D
I think the drop in party favor is due to the Toronto party hacks running the show, not Iggy. I don't know if Iggy could change things if he did take control though because he's clearly more out of touch with the base of the party than the Toronto insiders are.

No. He's done. Done like Dion. Sounds like a dish. Sushi.

Put me in his place. I'll be louder then both those pussies.

Won't get many votes but people'll be talking again..

He's done like dinner. I just hope the next one understands he needs to earn votes rather then try and trigger an election.

I doubt the CPC thinks or hopes he's done. I'd imagine they'd like him to hang on like a limpet for the next little while!

its honestly tough to say but ever since september he has not done good and been behind in every poll by something like 10 % and then came the by-elections where the libs came in 3rd in all 4 . i don't know how much more bad news he can take . my guess is he's one defection or something like that away from a serious leadership crisis . unless this donolo guy actually does something for him but i doubt it will make much difference who's running his office .

He'll have a nice pension, for what he didn't do! He reminds us of Obama in many ways...But maybe that's why the Liberal's appointed him.

As far as I am concerned, he never had a future in politics to begin with.

If Iggy reminds you or anyone else of Obama, you need to remove the dirt from your glasses.

He had a great deal of potential but the way he was introduced was terrible. Even if we ignore the fact that he returned to Canada simply because the Toronto party insiders promiced to let him run the place, he's gone no where.
I still believe he's a damned smart & learned fellow but he just never had a chance because he has not taken the time to learn Canadian politics and he's been micromanaged by goofs like Kinsella. If he loses the next election, it will be telling to see if he goes home and what his next book says.

Iggy was doing so well last January. He rallied the party together after Dion. He put the government "on probabtion" for their budget. He was strong and engaging on camera and he looked like a confident, decisive leader. But where did he go after that? He disappeared. He didn't respond to any other government actions. He didn't present any sort of a party policy or agenda. Whenever the public has waited for a Liberal response/position, it's never come. He simply blew his political career by going into hiding.

Yeah, Iggy's done...he's committed political suicide.

This Liberal party's approach has been to wait for the public to approve of them again. The smug bastards have to figure out what has us pissed off, then change their policies.
