Remember all those grinning jews, who lit candles with Harper for this Hanukah? That was Harper desperately trying to keep Jewish moneybags open for his sticky fingers!

Sorry, but that is not anti Jewish, you are confused. The fact that someone likes to be friends with jews includes Liberals, as canadian jews are economically well off and good contributors. The incident of Harper lighting Hanukah candles in a synagogue is a recent one and was transparent communal sucking up. We do it too, but with more sophistication. Sometimes you will see a Liberal in a mosque or gurudwara or even a synagogue, but not so blatantly as Harper. Harper is trying to get the income trust thing cancelled out.

Even denying he is anti-Jewish he makes offensive generalizations and defines people solely by their religion (but only if they are Jewish I suppose).

Pity he displays the same Party banner that I do. I certainly don't think many of his opinions are shared among Liberals (or any other Party for that matter. Maybe he and hwacker ought to form their own party?

What offensive generalisations are you talking about? How do you think that Harper standing with a skull cap and lighting a menorah should be interpreted?

Harper even told the Rabbi that he may have won his chair because the Rabbi prayed for him!

If that ain't a communal suck up, you tell me!

Iggy did? Really? Can you substantiate your claim or are you pulling a Mr Chekov (from classic Start Trek) whose running gag was attributing everything to great Russians.

This is great.
The Libs just missed electing a great candidate like Hedy Fry or the kids fave, "Shifty" Volpe.

I think, with the pathetic candidates you scraped up, you have no room to suggest anything.

Don't get too excited at the prospect of Liberal bickering as represented by the Iggy poster, Ridenrain. This guy shares more attitudes with some of the more far-out posters on the Conservative end of the spectrum. Even so, I've yet to see anyone from any Party align himself with him. on anything he has posted.

Firecat, I do not wish to take you on, respecting your seniority on this board, but you seem to provoke it unwarrantedly. So here goes:

For that matter, Firecat, we have yet to see you align yourself with a party. You fly both Liberal and NDP banners, so that is sitting on a effing fence.

For that matter, you are completely vague about WHAT the difference is between Liberal and Conservative, let alone NDP and Liberal.

I fully expect you to fly three flags or four. Patrick Ross after his evening drinks and Firecat sober, what's the difference?

Sorry OTI but you have not read correctly what I wrote.

a. No liberal denies that the cabinet was whipped to pass the SSM legislation.

b. Harper's promise was clear, he would put up a resolution. No Liberal denies that either.

But there was deceit from Harper to say that the Legislation went through BECAUSE Martin whipped his cabinet!

That, my friend was a friggin lie, and it is right there in your CPC extract!

It was a lie because Harper pretended that it could be fixed. He knew it would not be fixed and he falsely promised to fix it.

The CPC resolution does not say that con man believed that the resolution would fail, it says that it would go through, because of the lack of whipping.

But Iggy was smart and advised Dion correctly. No whipping and no pressure. The resolution failed. Liberals did not care if it succeeded, we win, and if if failed Harper was proved a liar, so we were neutral. Iggy therefore advised his leader to allow a free vote.

Everyone knows that Harper wanted the resolution to fail, in fact, his people may have pleaded with Bloc and NDP to make it fail. If it had not failed, Harper was in big, big constitutional trouble, and he could not handle that.

It's not what I read incorrectly, it's your lack of understanding.

Bill C-23 passed by 25 votes. Less than the amount of Ministers in Cabinet. Paul Martin had 38 cabinet ministers.

Always4Iggy Always4Iggy:
Let's face it, cons.

Harper is losing the next election, and cons will be back to 70 seats.

Harper will have to resign.

Are you cons thinking seriously about who the next con man will be?

Share your thoughts with us. We liberals love to help you decide!

Well as a former Liberal who is fed up with the Liberal Party and it's extreme left leaning view you do not further the party cause piggy you harm it. It's zealots like you who are blinded by party loyalty that you turn off the Moderate Liberals, perhaps it's time the Liberal Party fractured and formed a new party independant from the Socialist and their agenda. The Liberal Party turned Canada into a welfare nation, yet poverty, homelessness, crime, mentally ill lack care and obesity is rampart. Why, because the public thinks the Government should solve all their problems, and they are to weak lame and lazy to get off their large asses and do something for themselves. This is nothing to brag about, other countries mock us for our meekness and inability to think for ourselves as a society. I'm not a fan of Harper but because of the Liberals and their policies I'll never vote for that party again, it will take the Cons years to undo the damage the Liberals have done. I'm sick of elections, and the general public is going to be pissed of royally when another one is called. I hope the Cons use the fact that the Liberals and Bloc are the ones wasting the tax payers dollars again (by forcing another election) as per nom for these parties of uselessness and strife. Extreme Liberals, you lost get over it already, the sky isn't going to fall in because there are to many Canadians who sit on their ass receiving welfare the sky will land saftly on these lard asses.

 And the truth shall set him free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not so easy, my friend. Think again.

If it failed because of the whip, then why did it fail THIS time with Harper in power? After all, Harper has THIRTY SIX SEATS more!

Rubbish, firecat, you don't believe that I am anti jewish any more than Patrick does. Nor does Patrick believe that I am homophobic.

I know why Patrick spent time checking back my posts from one to three hundred, and looking for things he could string together. He just wanted to throw a lot of muck so that some would stick!

Patrick knows that if people check back the threads, they will find I was not at all homophobic or anti-semitic. But he also knows that most people won't check back.

Not that it matters to me, most conservaties here are homophobic and antisemitic, so that makes life easier, really. Not that I wish for it. I am perfectly capable of leading a difficult life!

Why you have taken up the matter is to be wondered at! Why would a liberal spend time running down a fellow liberal, rather than address the competition?

Or are you really a liberal? Who knows!
