"I don't think we've scored on the communications front," said Liberal MP Judy Sgro (York West, Ont.).

You can say that again.

Quote:
But Liberal MP Bonnie Crombie (Mississauga-Streetsville, Ont.) said they need to put out more policy ideas before the election campaign, and a Liberal "thinkers conference" to be held early next year will help the party to define itself.

Maybe, provided the conference isn't dominated by a pile of academic types who scare the public with way-out suggestions.

Quote:
The veteran Liberal {Ms Crombie} cited the example of the press conference held last week by Liberal MPs on the Hill attacking the government for its alleged indifference to the plight of Suaad Mohamud, a Toronto woman left stranded in Kenya, as a positive example of the kind of communications the party needs to do more of.

No, that's the sort of thing they should avoid. This is before the courts and if it is shown that Ms Mohamud tried to defraud the government the Liberals end up looking stupid. There is only one proper answer to this case, "I can't comment because it is before the courts".

All the lessons the Libs used in past elections are comming back, used against them. Instead of defining themselves, their sitting back and letting us to do it for them. The only major difference is we don't have the CBC doing our dirty work.

I shake my head. A leader without the requisite political skills with advisers giving terrible advice to him. What idiot came up with the plan to try and defeat the government? Ignatieff has had to go through the humiliation of backtracking.

I don't think I remember the Liberals ever this disorganized.
