I should say thanks to bootlegga for his posts. He's taken an interest, argued patiently and been clear about his ideas on the impact of immigration. It's generally true what he posts as well, immigration has worked for a long time and could continue to work. There's some alternate economics, addressing low wages and that through low unemployment, but I see what he means.

Here’s former Conservative Immigration Minister Monte Solberg on the limits of multiculturalism.
http://www.torontosun.com/comment/colum ... 1-sun.html
”The real significance of the changes that Immigration Minister Jason Kenney made to the citizenship guide isn't just that it was a shot across the bow of immigrants who think that their ugly faith gives them the power of life or death over their own families. “

“Perhaps even more significant is that Kenney has given voice to the great silent majority, who will tolerate a lot but whose basic decency won't let them tolerate sharia law, honour killings and anyone who is quick to claim their rights as a Canadian, but who shirks the responsibilities that are part of the deal. “

“What you'll never hear at Tim's are the things that Liberals love to talk about. There is no beret-wearing, coffee-shop philosopher who speaks in soaring and poetic language about official multiculturalism and its contribution to the Canadian cultural mosaic (or is it a tapestry?)”

Here's a dirty immigration fact.

Speaking of the problem the grandchildren don't seem to want to train, are as lazy as dogs, here's some numbers on engineers.

The government would like to appropriate the better jobs for itself, the immigration vote being the target. It has let in some 12,000 engineers a year for the last decade while graduating only 8,000 a year. The Association of Engineers says only there is over supply in their field.

Report on number of graduates in 1990, see Table 1.

Mention that the influx is 12,000 annually. I have seen similar figures over the years.

You kids have got the idea, eh. The government spends. Never mind left or right, the MPs are near the nations finances and they can only think of ways to spend.

That a boy there. A minutes consideration about other people's job. With family it's 480,000 in the last ten years, 19% of immigration. The actual requirement was probably specific shortages. After all you aren't doing so bad yourself.

In all his waking days Eyebrook hasn't figured out they simply could have trained a youth instead of hire him for his well paid, secure, govenment job with a pension. He has no idea he's the benefactor of a Canadian largess and in a priviledged job, in fact thinks he's hard done by and votes Conservative. Probably makes the wife walk 10 paces behind him.
