I can not believe how many idiots we have here. Are you actually agreeing with this ranting lunatic???? the original poster has no idea what he/she is talking about. First of all education is more important than ever, especially in the developed world where we have fewer non-low skilled positions available.
Come to think of it, I think there is a possibility the poster was being sarcastic, at least I hope. It would make more sense that way.
I go to school full time and work part time. My education costs more than 4 times that of an education in the 1970's in real terms, and I will be lucky to get a job that pays equivalent to that of a starting salary in that time period.
But what is the alternative?? Take a menial job that requires no skill?? sorry last I looked there arent too many of those in major cities left. What should I move to the country and become a farmer???? forget that non-sense, the farming industry is subsidized by the government anyways so I dont really see that helping our economy.
Now to the subject at the heart of all this, "rioting fools", well if you are not upset that the middle class is shrinking you my friend are either a fool yourself or one of the few rich that enjoy the true benefits of our Canadian society.
In a truly efficient economy the only class that would grow would be the middle class, not the two opposing classes. This is a huge concern, what will it take for people to wake up and realize that since the fall of monarchies we have instituted new ruling powers (Corporations)that their sole purpose is to gain and hold as much wealth as possible. Marie Antoinette "let them eat cake", will soon be "well if the subway is down, why dont they take their bentley's". This is a concern that every middle class citizen of the world should worry about.
Forget this you should only go to school for certain subjects, education is what makes us human, allows us to learn from others mistakes, and helps us design a better future.
Slacker's in school, you my friend have obviously never taken a course in University, while working. I barely have time to respond to your idiotic rant.
