NDP betrayed new voters...

I usually vote Liberal (in Canada), but in the last election and also after watching Layton on Lou Dobbs I decided to vote NDP, I like his message and vision.

If the NDP/Liberals formed a coalition and Michael Ignatieff was going to be PM, I would be 100% behind this, a "vote of no confidence."

The reason the NDP made gains in the last election was because Canadians dislike Dion, now they want to force this dumb bastard onto Canadians.

The NDP has betrayed those new voters and it will not be forgotten.

The NDP rushed into this and should have waited or have Layton as interim PM.

Christ anything is better than Dion... even Harper.

They just don't get it... THEY JUST DON'T GET IT!!!

This is good for Iggy, though. This way, he's insulated from much of the personal fallout of the decision. If the Liberals get taken down by this, he'll fall with them, but he'll stay relatievly free of direct, personal baggage. He can also campaign and win the Liberal leadership on the up-and-up. I think Iggy's better off with Dion kicking off this coalition.

Excellent observation. Iggy's smart. He realizes this coalition is toxic, and even if they pull it off, is sure to end badly sooner or later. He's keeping as much distance from it as possible, so that when it does, he won't be tarnished with it.

Rae on the other hand, has been on T.V. day and night pushing the idea. When it goes down, he'll be tied to it, further cementing his reputation as a politician with poor judgement.

I didn't think much of Iggy during the Libs leadership convention, because he came across as wooden and inexperienced. But he's proving to be quite clever.

Yes, yes. Of course.

But, what concerns me, is if Ignatieff becomes Prime Minister, will he send Canadians into Iraq?

Considering the man's past beliefs, it seems a fair question of a potential Prime Minister, does it not?

That is so unfair, holding what politicians say against them.
The Liberals forgot about the war that Chretien put us in so why should we assume Iggy will do the same?

NDPers dumb? Look who's still standing by the biggest fuck-up since Joe Clark?
Want an election? Then demand the glorious Leader obtain some nuts and go to the GG and spill it out, he's lost the confidence of Parliament and wants an election.
He's still denying any responsibility and grovelling for a timeout.

Betrayed? Not fucking likely! Now my guy's got a shot at a Cabinet post, the economy might get taken seriously, the NDP will get a significant say in how and the MAJORITY of the electorate will be gov't instead of the MINORITY.
What betrayal? I just got 3 times my money's worth.

Who's standing still, holding their balls now? Layton and Dion.

NDP ran a completely anti-Liberal campaign and you don't think it's a betrayal to jump into bed with them and the Bloc?

Perhaps you dippers and the Liberals have a lot in common. Principles and values that change depending on the wind.

Yeah. It's everyone else's fault.
The other parties betrayed people. The other parties can't possibly have any common interests. Parliamentary democracies are wrong. Only The Harper acts for the good of the country.

And there's only ONE BALL. Harper's not holding it anymore. Cut and ran, hiding his head in the sand and maybe it will all go away.

I haven't got an answer back from Dawn Black yet (because I'm part of the vast Conservative media machine, no doubt) so maybe you could tell me what the Sedition coalition is going to do about Afghanistan? I remember a whole lot of lefties bitching because those evil Conservatives had that vote to pull us out in 2011, with so much left to do.. Does that mean we're staying?

Within hours of the GG's announcement, Liberal are already declaring the coalition "over".

It's over. Who's holding the ball now?

Not the Lefties.

Focus on losing Mr. Bean and getting out of debt.
