If the fetus isn't viable (without heroic measures) outside the womb, then it isn't murder, Robair...at least in my view.
Yea and in a lot of peoples views. Personally, that feels a little too much like playing god to me. There's kids that are born early that wouldn't survive without an incubator. Does that mean that before the incubator came along, they wouldn't be classified as people? What if the next genereation of science produces an 'incubator' that will work on an earlier birth, say if the mother is having complications? What if life begins at fertilization? Who are you or I to make that call? I couldn't. Not with a clear conscience.

This is a good point. However, birth control is available to anybody that would have the option of abortion. I've managed to have plenty of sex without spawning any little Robairs.

There have been no paternity suits in my past either, Robair. Don't tell the nuns, but you can buy these thing called condoms.;-)

Accidents happen though...rubbers break, women (and soon men) forget to take their pill. A DJ here in town had a vasectomy, then got his wife pregnant. The ugly accusations and the DNA test were quite public...his vasectomey had healed itself.

I don't advocate abortion as a method of birth control, and every statistic I've ever seen points to it being used that way only rarely. I think it is a necessary option though.

As for viability...I did say heroic measures. On a DNR (do not resucitate) order that generally includes the use of an air tent.
