Kids'll play with guns. If you don't give them one, they'll use sticks and a little thing called imagination. Still, I don't encourage it with my kids. It's not like I forbid them, I just don't play those games with them, and try to point them in other directions. Same as I don't give them anatomically ocrrect dolls to play doctor with. There's lots of time for that later on. The age innocence is short enough as it is; I don't feel much inclination to shorten it further.
ASL, you took issue because this daycare worker said that guns are designed to kill people? I'm sorry I'm with the daycare worker on that one. They are designed to kill people--the handguns anyways. Kids who aren't even in kidergarten yet should stay away from them. How you manage to turn this into some kind of allowance for kids to be drug dealers is beyond me.
