I think there's a lot of truth to that.

The other thing is, if you asked Canadians if they were concerned about the environment, almost all would say yes. If you asked if they'd accept higher taxes, or some other hindrance, quite a substaintial proportion of those concerned people" will suddenly become inconsiderate.

Government needs to make people want to use less water/energy/garbage, etc for their own interests, because, at the end of the day, that's what people are concerned with.

More or less agreed. BUT, I would like to add that the blame game is a dangerous one because it's mostly reactionary. This may sound a little silly, but I believe there is a difference between blame and responsibility. Blame in many of these situations is insufficient because it's an emotional response -- a person is angry, so they cast blame. Determining responsiblity, however, requires significant relflection and investigation.

...Regardless, I think problems such as these demand proactive solutions. That's the challenge.

If we were to do things like use the Emergency room less often and use less electricity and produce less garbage, we'd be very influential.

Such as in admitting the reason why people use the emergency room too much and doing something to solve the problem.

As for electricity, I can't believe how stupid some people are.. they put out a warning telling everyone to use less electricity, but people insist on not doing anything because they think the announcement is for someone else.

Of course, the consumer probably makes up a pretty small percentage of electricity usage and garbage production compared to so many large corporations with their massive air-conditioned office buildings and big box stores with their always-on lights and meat aisle refigerator temperatures they set their air conditiong at, and the horrendous amount of garbage that comes from both.

Dumb, they pay 80% of the going costs for the transmission charges. If they cut way back, guess what you’re getting the bill.

If they have the $$ to pay why not let them. The Gov't is to blame for the lack of electricity. They have the resources to make lots they just refuse and make us pay for it.

What’s wrong with the LG4 and LG2 projects ?, I did the startup at both projects 12 years ago why is there not more of them. ?

How many nuclear plants are going up in China, France and Canada?

Lots of questions, nobody to answer them. thanks Liberals :-)
