I just want to know what you think about Qubec's flag? it's third in north america including country's flag, province flags, states flags and all, what you think about it? I think it's beautiful and it represents Qubec very well, it flys everyhere in Qubec, more than canadian flag. I don't wanna start a political debate, that's why I didn't post this in Qubec seperatist thread

All I want is an opinion, and to be fair I'll tell you what I think about the Canadian flag, I think it looks ok and it represents canada very well, I couldn't see another flag for Canada.

What do you mean by third? Was their a 'prettiest flag' poll?

I noticed you're an AC student... my mom teaches in Animal Science there....

I would guess that it was the third Flag conceived or to fly in North America.

Love the Flag, I personally feel that its over used in Quebec. Not trying to downgrade its beauty or its significance. Just that the Canadian Flag should have/be at its place. Here in NS, you see both Provincial and National Flag in a good mix or flying together.

Mario - I don't think that could possibly be it. Maybe the third Quebec flag to be concieved? There were so many, many flags flown in north america prior to the development of this flag (which I also kind of like)...

If you reread his original post, I really think that Gabriel meant from a ranking standpoint. I'm wondering which flags are one and two? Possibly the one I use for my avatar? ;-)

I think your right Wildcat... the Third most knowed or recongnize makes sense. Maybe its time that Ontario and Manitoba redo their own flag. I still can't tell the diff between the two.

Bu third I mean.. umm the most beautiful flag was.. hmm I forgot but it was a state in usa, Quebec flag was third in north america I'll try to find proof of that

ok I found it, it says first one is new mexico 2nd is texas and third is Québec
400vexigologues(???) people who works with flags or something like that from all around the world voted 1 to 10, manitoba's flag is 44th which is the (excuse the term i couldn't find another) uglyest in Canada
Georgia from usa is the uglyest too but in usa

Btw it passed on tv on LCN

To be honest neither 1 or 2 look very aethetically pleasing. What exactly does the Quebec flag represent? What does it stand for?

The fleur-de-lis' origins with French monarchs stems from the baptismal lily used in the crowning of King Clovis I. To further enhance its mystique, a legend eventually sprang up that a vial of oil descended from heaven to anoint and sanctify Clovis as King. The thus "anointed" Kings of France later maintained that their authority was directly from God, without the mediation of either the Emperor or the Pope. Other legends claim that even the lily itself appeared at the baptismal ceremony as a gift of blessing in an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Catholic Church later endorsed the legend by associating Mary with the symbol. There are many other legends, that state for instance that Clovis saw an angel, among others.
