Agreed. Harper is extremely intelligent and politically savvy. He has a huge opportunity to make sure these new gains become Conservative strongholds, or at least, battlegrounds, compared to the Liberal strongholds they were before. Toronto is the key, as well as other major immigrant communities.
No doubt the West and Prairies will have an impact upon the CPC, but, if Harper plays the game right, Southern Ontario can have a huge part of this too. He'll be pushing forth issues that won't alienate new voters, specifically social issues, but rather focus on foreign affairs, the economy, and crime.
If he sticks to that script then he will earn my vote in 4 years. I give that a snowballs chance in hell at this point but I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now. He has earned that much.
