It seems to me that smart weapons are the be all and end all. There's some posters with military experience on CKA and I would like them to add their 2 cents. For example a smart weapon attack on a country's oil refineries would be a weapon of mass destruction. Game over.

where I am going. I don't actually know what smart weapons they have. in addition what smart weapons are on the design board. also it seems to me they are a game changer. You could paralysis a country with a very few hits on major installations like refineries. Any major war would be a dance around smart weapon attacks as well as nuke attacks. actually I'm fishing for information.

Well my understanding is that smart weapons are actually self correcting weapons. By that I mean a rocket, bomb or missile that can correct its trajectory to strike a specific target. They are designed to avoid collateral damage, to hit a large target like a refinery you wouldnt really need a smart weapon. To hit your neighbors house wile leaving yours intact might require a smart weapon.
You will still need to find your targets, so smart weapons are only as smart as your intelligence.
