Avaaz, the global campaigning organization hosting the "Stop 'Fox News North'" online petition, requested Tuesday , in a letter formally submitted by civil rights lawyer Clayton Ruby, that the Ottawa Police and RCMP launch an investigation into apparent fraudulent signatures among the 80,000 added to the petition that came from the same Ottawa IP address. Teneycke admitted to insider knowledge of the perpetrator.

Sorry Andy--the news is all liberally slanted. Obvious you didn't get the memo. (Look for the "FOX News" letterhead on the memo.)

Said it before and I'll say it again, FUX News/TeaBircher/Palinist 'conservatism' will just not succeed in Canada the way it has in the US. Maybe some of these guys will finally figure it out someday and stop doing things like this that make them look like total idiots.

The government-owned CBC seems a natural counter to private corporations with scads of money looking to convert people to their political ideology.

I've always thought that the CBC had kind of outgrown its usefulness, but maybe not.

If SUN TV news turns out to be FUX junior it'll make the CBC look positively normal in comparison. Which makes the CBC's opposition to the new network kind of baffling. Why mount an opposition on your own when you can rely on the existential silliness of your enemy to essentially negate itself and by default do all the hard work for you?

It's just the usual leftist CBC rant. This Teneycke guy used to work for Harper, so obviously he's a straight shooter.

Obviously I haven't been following the story--I didn't even know CBC was opposed.

Sun News uses dirty tricks to silence critics

And that would make them different from any other mainstream Western news organization how? [huh]

Well, give us some examples of something that rises to this level.

The Sun Media group is owned by Quebecor. Brian Mulroney sits on their board.

Who cares what CBC wants. Since they didn't seem to mind when Al Jazeera Canada started, why should they care about a right wing news channel?

A disssenting view to their propaganda perhaps, or, maybe they're just scared that it'll be the straw that broke the camels back when it comes to their suckling off the taxpayers teat.

So the media in Canada has labelled this "Fox News North" since the beginning despite the fact there is no connection, and they haven't even broadcast a single minute, and Sun is the one using dirty tricks? Right.

Um, labelling somebody isn't a dirty trick. Deceptively ruining an online petition to stop you is a perfect example of a dirty trick.

If you need more help with this, just flail about and I'll find you.

You don't help much at all.
