I'm reminded by a politically astute friend of mine that a couple of years of out of control deficits will produce more political instability. It did last time, politicians tend not to learn from recent experience, and we are probably in for protracted unemployment and deficits with little political action. Just right now the $50 billion deficit hasn't really sunk in yet to the public consciousness. Any fears or comments in these regards?

Just thank your lucky stars the Liberals are not in power, then the deficit would be $150 Billion..... and if the NDP were in power.....BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHA they would never be in power, what in the hell was I thinking.

These times are these times, no government would NOT be in deficit. Canada is istuated top in the world to come out of this OK. As far as political rumble goes, well that's just because we have a minority government. Somebody farting in the wrong direction would cause political turmoil.
