watching movies about Trudeau doesn't make you a geek.....it makes you a masochist, and if you make your partner watch them, it makes you a sadist.

A pirouette behind the Queen of England vs. a two minute ride on an ATV (and no mudhole even).
Like comparing champagne to the Western Family colas that have held office since.

The man was an asshole. He's the prick that is the root of most problems faced by Canadian society today...that is Trudeau's legacy. The Air Farce portrayal of him was dead on.

Trudeau... like thousands of other Canadians felt the Royalty was redundant.
A man well ahead of his time! He also stood up to Alberta and Québec and the separatist movement. Telling them all like it is. Many many books have been written about him, his family, his legacy.... volumes... It will sure beat the hell out the comic book that will be written about harper!

Befitting the Trudeau era, said comic book would be a gloss cover, dot-colours on newsprint, entitled LAPDOG an everyday Prime Minister who in times of international crisis emerges from caucus as the Darling of Wall St. Imperialists!

Huh? The only comic book I seen PET in were a couple issues of "Uncanny X-Men" around 1979/80 for Alpha Flight's first two appearances. Even then Trudeau was the "bad guy" so to speak.

As for Kenny's glowing praise for Trudeau, his opinion hardly matters to me because he's a demagogue. PET did more to fracture this country than any other Prime Minister (with Mulroney taking a close second) need I bring up the National Energy Program, which many here in Alberta will never forgive him or Ottawa for? Trudeau was hardly the best prime minister we had and there's enough of an argument to deem him the worst.

Lester B. Person on the other hand, now there's more of a candidate for best prime minister.

What I like most about Stephen Harper is his determination to tear down the rotten, intrusive social engineering state built by Trudeau and Pearson. Harper's realized Toronto and Quebec will never let him have a majority government, so he's using his minority power to hack off as many of the tentacles of the Liberal control freak state as possible. He's doing it incrementally, but it's getting done. His game is no longer to win a majority, but to scorch as much of the earth as possible for the nanny staters before the Liberals are returned to power.

Harper is the West's revenge for the wrongs done it by Trudeau and the Toronto/Montreal elites. Harper is the individual's revenge for the creeping collectivism of Trudeau and Chretien (and Mulroney too, to be fair). Harper is the rural and suburban Canadian's revenge for the city-state leftists who won't be happy until cars, hunting rifles and contact sports have been outlawed.

Even Toronto has had enough of this crap. They're gettting ready to replace David Miller with Rob Ford. Dalton McGuinty needs to watch his back too.

Canada needs to bury these mouldy Expo 67 fantasies and look to the future. Let the Scandiavians wallow in their Janteloven, tall-poppy cutting paternalism. Canadians have better things to do.

I would say we became what we are in spite of Trudeau and his social engineering experiment.

In fact, given a choice between watching a movie on Trudeau and sticking hot pokers in my eyes I would gladly submit to the hot pokers!
