I see you doing the same here.

When bigotry is aimed personally at me, I'll call it out. I note you do the same DD.

Healthy discussion and debate ended when this became personal. This seems to be the usual way with Derby these days.

From our POV it went the other way around and on other threads. I certainly wasn't the only one who say it.

Are you saying that England has no unemployed yobs and hooligans? The boys who get drunk on a Saturday afternoon and watch the Championship game of Queens Park Rangers Vs Milwall. The young 16 to twenty something year olds who sit around in front of shopping centers, drink beer all day and curse people passing by. "Oi, you fucking packi", "Eh there love, come give us a snog" are some of their more endearing calling signs.

It's no rocket science an open door immigration policy will bring the more undesirable people into the country. This is not some forum fiction; this is well documented throughout history.

What you are calling for is an open door immigration policy to Britain because we share a 'common heritage'. You haven't answered my question, do you believe we should have an open door to Zimbabwe, India, or Nigeria?"

Where did I say we should have an open door with the UK?

Your views on Brits are well posted on this and other threads.

You think it's a level playing field having people come to Canada who can't speak English etc and obviously prefer those to the masses of 'unskilled yobs and hooligans' from the UK.

That's just plain bigotry and it's not your first post of that nature.

Just as you stereotyped most non English/European immigrants as culturally deprived non English speaking system leeches? Sitting in the ER, not a word of English? Not a dime for tax?

Your anti immigrant rants against people who don't fit your definition of '400 years of tradition' is also on full display.

It is the pot calling the kettle an immigrant.

But as with all forums, this is just opinions of individuals.

I'm sorry Sock., don’t put words into my mouth.

That was in reference to grandparents of new immigrants coming over to Canada, too old to work and being more high maintenance in health care usage, but never having paid into it.
I don’t think we should be paying for this. Do you?
I’m all for people bringing said granny over but they should pay for the health-care costs, not the tax-payer. I said that, often. Scroll back.

How is that calling the kettle black?

You made this personal by stereo-typing all Brits as ‘unskilled yobs and hooligans’ knowing full well I am a Brit.

All I can take from it that you were attacking me personally.

Even though I am an immigrant, I am entitled to an opinion.

Both you and Derby don’t seem to think so and you guys are making this personal.

Derby, this is your way of operating on the forum.

It's nothing new from you and it would be a more pleasant place if you tried to refrain from the personal attacks and ramming your point down my throat everytime you disagree with it.

Try debate. Try seeing things from a different view point. Be open to other's ideas. Think twice before ranting. It will be a more enjoyable experience. You need to move away from sentiments like this;

"You are much more entertaining to fight with."

Posting on here shouldn't be about fighting but that's what it is to you. I post on here because I like to see others viewpoints on things, and I like a good debate.

I have been known to change my POV after some healthy debate. Try it sometime.

By that token what did you do to non-UK immigrants when you accused them of clogging ERs they didn't pay for? How does that belief not do the same thing?

No. I'm the person saying that. You are the person who won't say that when some "legally citizenized Lebenese" holds an opinion you disagree with.

All I ever said was that as long as you were going to grade immigrants on some sort of scale then logically us non-immigrants rate higher then the highest ranking immigrant. I used you own logic against you.

Its ironic that Andyt is bashing all immigrants and my argument defends you by default.

You post statements some people are more Canadian for having served and that pisses people off. You went off on a rant about free loading immigrants who crowd ERs and not once have to addressed that.

I have called you quite often on you escalating the debate to personal attacks so don't plead innocent.

Far from being open to new ideas I am one of the most wide open posters we have. Goes with being a liberal.

Wrong again, like 100% of your posts in this thread.

Well it was a little suspicious. My posts disappeared and within a minute or two yours appeared. You don't find me entertaining because I won't pretend to like you because I find you a completely unreasonable person who thinks he's reasonable.
At one time you weren't that way, but it seems since the Conservatives took power you have become worse and worse. I see it as do others. You seem like an angry man.

"I'm a homegrown Canadian. My opinion in this regard will always trump yours."

You go scroll back to where you claimed being an immigrant some how grants you greater authority to judge immigrants then I to see where it began.

Next time to tell us our ERs are overflowing with free-loading immigrants based on nothing more then your observation.

That is not only condescending but downright bigotry.

yup, and when i challenged him on the fact that the number of immigrants in our ERs should represent similar demographics as the area, I believe the point blew right over his head because all he could tell me was 'go there and see what i mean'

No where in my posts did I attack you personally, and to be honest on my years on this board, I've rarely resorted to ad hominem attacks, even when I'm attacked personally.

This is not personal, and I certainly have no qualms with British people.

However, I'm beginning to see an "I'm British, how dare you!" attitude that's not constructive.

This is why I oppose public discussion on these issues, because one side or another will eventually call the other racist. Some may have basis, some not, but nevertheless it's a toxic result that can cause generational splits. Look at our neighbors to the south and their inability to deal with the descendants of slaves to this day.

I was disappointed by your comments regarding ER too. I know quite a few people in Canada who came here as refugees, and immigrants in the 70s, who are now entering old age. They have been working for since they came to Canada, and have contributed to our society.

I am highly disappointed that you would make the assumption that they didn't contribute because they are old. This is where your bias shows. This is a very quintessentially slanted worldview you've acquired.

This is upsetting, to say the least. Because I thought you're one of the smarter posters on this forum. I thought you were more, dare I say inoculated towards the barrage of propaganda that is spewed about hordes of 3rd world peasants with low IQs flooding to our country and leeching our system. This is a false view. A very European way of looking at others. As inferior, lower beings that can in the long term only destroy what great European minds have built.

This is where the nastiness starts, and often ends in ugliness.
